From Stress to Rest: Leaning on God for Financial Opportunities

When faced with challenges in life, do you trust and rely on God —or yourself?

In this economy, we all want more money. We look for higher-paying jobs, take on part-time work, start businesses, or search for ways to create passive income. But often, we find ourselves drained by closed doors, unsatisfying work environments, or the inability to sell all those digital products everyone seems to rave about.

We either become obsessed with success or too discouraged to continue. Our thoughts fixate on solving the problem or escaping the difficulty, and we lose sight of the One who can take the burden and open doors of opportunity for us.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

This verse reminds us that, rather than obsessing over fixing our troubles alone, we should cast all our worries on the Lord (1 Peter 5:7). When we let Him direct our steps, He can guide us to establish the proper systems and connect with the right people to achieve our goals.

When we don’t trust God in our entrepreneurial journey, idolatry creeps in. We make money, success, or control our ultimate focus, and this fixation often leads to stagnation. By taking the reins away from God, we delay our progress or settle for breadcrumbs of success, rather than the abundance He desires for us.

So, what can be done?

First, stop everything. Calm your mind, and turn your attention to God’s voice.
Remember Whose you are. You are a child of Jehovah Jireh—the Lord who provides.
Listen to His instructions and follow them in obedience. When you do this, not only will you receive spiritual peace, but you’ll also gain clarity, purpose, and guidance in your pursuits.

By trusting God to guide us in creating wealth, we invite divine wisdom into our decision-making. This wisdom creates pathways to success that we could never forge on our own. When we align our goals with His plans, we navigate life with confidence and assurance.

In moments of discouragement, keep this truth close to your heart:

"Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!" (Luke 12:24)
